Chapter 2. Using AcritoxInstaller

How to run AcritoxInstaller

AcritoxInstaller needs to be started as root from a Live system. Running it as user makes it impossible for the frontend to start the backend and then you can't to do anything. Therefore the Menu-Entry in K-Menu->Kanotix doesn't run "acritoxinstaller", but "sudo acritoxinstaller", as the kanotix-live-user has the rights to run applications via sudo.

To get some debug output you may run AcritoxInstaller in a root-shell. Therefore open a shell on the Live system, type "sudo acritoxinstaller" and press enter. AcritoxInstaller should start up as usual with its GUI, but all the communication between frontend and backend is written to the shell.
